Targus TCM004US Basic 15.6" Messenger Laptop Case

This case doesn't inspire a lot of drama. My Macbook Pro slides in it easily and seems well protected. The pocket holds my mouse and charger and various other computer specific items. After a year of constant use, it isn't really showing any wear. It does exactly what I bought it for.

This is not a hard protective case for a laptop. It is a very nice, multi-compartment nylon bag.

I'm so happy I chose this particular laptop carrying case. This is my first, so I did take time to look over the reviews and various cases carefully. This is very durable and yet practical. The various spaces allow me to take extra paper, pencils, calculator, etc. It's padded well enough to take hard bumps. At first I wanted a "cute" bag but decided to go with a more practical one. I would definitely buy this again.

Great product and delivery was very quick. The laptop case was exactly as described and my new Dell laptop fit perfectly for my trip from San Diego back home to NJ. Great price for the case - room enough for the mouse, power cables and papers. Dealing with Amazon has always been a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Amazon in general and this product in particular.

Targus does a great job with their laptop cases. This one is light and well made.

I needed a lightweight bag with ample room for 15 inch notebook, power brick and mouse. Also wanted just a little extra space for some reading material while commuting. And I didn't want to spend lots of money. That's exactly what I received. The bag and strap are well constructed. Nothing is flimsy or cheap in my opinion. I highly recommend this item.

Ordered this for a surprise gift to go along with the Christmas laptop for my grandson and I gotta say this is worth three times the cost.Got it on sale for under $20 but I've seen laptop sleeves at that price. This can easily take him to school. The pockets are plentiful and more than ample in size to hold the power cord, any books and papers he might need and it comes with a shoulder strap as well as a handle. The fabric is very durable and zippers are strong. Just ordered two more-one for myself!

i bought this as a gift for someone and they said that it was great. i havent seen it yet though.

My computer fits nicely in this carry bag and my mouse and power adapter in another pocket.There's a flap that folds over the two bigger compartments and a nice shoulder carrying strap for easier carrying. There's an area for pens and pencils but I'm always afraid they'll fall out. Overall though this is a great carrying bag and I would buy it again without hesitation.

I have a Dell 15 inch notebook. I just needed a bag to use around town, then it turned out I also needed it for air travel. This bag filled the bill. It is not too big and cumbersome for the airport, although you do have to determine exactly what to put in this bag. There is plenty of room for the power supply, ear phones, several CD/DVDs, and a magazine, or paperwork. Some of the other bags I looked at did not have the handle (just the strap) the handle is very handy for around town. Bag is well made and seems to be holding up well.

After reading many reviews on this laptop case, I took the chance and ordered one. As with other purchasers of this case, I am very pleased with it.

My smaller laptop (a 14-inch HP) snugs down well into the padded laptop portion of this case. There is plenty of room for the AC power adapter, as well as my mobile mouse, two flash drives, etc., in the zippered compartment. Probably the only improvement to this laptop case that I would suggest would be an attached "key ring" on inside of the case (i.e. the zippered compartment) so I could clip my flash drives onto it.

The workmanship and material are good quality and the design makes this case easy to load, unload, and haul about. I am pleased over the reasonable price, too, as roomy laptop cases tend to be expensive. I did not want a huge case but I certainly do not care for those tight-fitted neoprene cases. This laptop case is a great compromise! It's like the items in the story of the Three Bears: it is neither too small nor too large!

For now I am not a daily user of this bag, but may be very soon. So far, I am impressed with the superb quality of this product for its price class. It seems very well constructed and it is also an attractive looking case. My HP 15.6" laptop fits perfectly and is well protected. I am very satisfied with this purchase and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking not to spend a lot of $$ in a very good quality and practical laptop case.

This is an excellent casual-use Laptop Case. Although there was some criticism written about it not being good quality, plastic clips, and not holding up well to daily use, I found this to be perfect for those like me who do not take their laptops with them every where or every day. The section that holds the laptop fit mine perfectly and had good enough padding around it. There is a separate zippered pocket to hold power supply, other UB cables,etc. Plus there are slot pockets on the front of this pocket that will hold pens/pencils, disks, business cards, etc. There is also a flat pocket on the back that is good for holding paper, a notebook, or files.

Would I recommend this for a student or business person? No, it would not hold up long to daily use and abuse, but for the casual user, who may just bring the laptop on vacation or to friends or coffee shops, it is the perfect laptop case. Excellent for the price. This same case sold at Target for over $10 more than what Amazon charged.

There is a wide price range for laptop carrying cases. I wanted something relatively inexpensive because I won't use it a lot. Wanted to take my laptop on vacation. I was very happy with the quality of the bag & the # of storage areas it offers. Very good buy for the price.

This is a no frills, no bells and whistles bag that provides a nice sized pocket for a laptop and accessories, a smaller pocket large enough for my appointment book and a letter sized tablet of paper, and an extorier pocket with limited space for things like miscellaneous documents. It has worked perfectly for my needs which essentially consist of transporting my laptop and appointment book between my office and my home on a daily basis.

This bag holds my 15.4" HP snugly. There are extra pockets for everything and it's very sturdy. Highly Recommended.

Bought for my daughter. She loves that there is enough room to carry her college work and her laptop, without the bag making it too heavy or being too bulky.

Quality product. Fits a 15.4" laptop perfectly. I'm very happy and the price was great. I mean...this is all you really need.

I got a great deal on a new Lenovo G530 with a 15.4" screen and needed a new bag to go with it. Local stores were off the hook for pricing (a discount machine needs a discount bag). This Amazon purchase fits the bill. It has a sturdy feel and holds the laptop perrfectly. The width is perfect and the height has 2" to spare. The handle is very comfortrably padded with a dense rubber grip and the strap is well built with a rubber shoulder pad. Features I liked:

- An outside magazine pocket for those plane trips
- A thick carrying handle
- A nice mouse sized pocket under the clip down flap
- Sturdy zippers
- Traditional messinger bag style

Down falls:

- It screams "steal me" at the airport (but if you like this style bag, what can you do?)
- 3 CD/DVD storage slots and no USB key drive slots.

When the case arrived, we were (and are) very pleased with the quality of the item. Since we don't carry our computer around every day we were not interested in spending copious amounts of money on THE super case, just something to protect it and make it easy to carry. We had looked at some of the big box stores and the lower priced cases we saw quite frankly stunk. The least expensive thing we found at close out was $20 and I wouldn't carry a magazine around in it much less an expensive piece of electronics. So this, at this price ($12.50) is a spectacular deal. It securely holds the computer (zipper and velcro) and everything else we need. It's not the case one needs to haul around a computer and a bunch of text books but for small stuff and accessories it has proven to be ideal for our use. Very pleased to say the least.

The bag is just okay for the price but not exactly what you have on the picture...The amazon picture is alittle over stated... what you really get is like the customers picture...(less compactment). well it will do the job for me at least. Shipping speed was very good.

Just got one of these as a gift, and would like to correct some of the negative comments made by reviewers, here.

REBUTTAL: This complaint is out-of-date. The pictures have been fixed. What is shown in the pictures is what I got.

REBUTTAL: The carry handle is NOT plastic. It is some kind of soft, but very stiff rubberized material. It is resistant to any kind of bending. Mr. Lertsakultip must have some extremely soft sensitive hands, because I just don't see how this handle would be uncomfortable to anyone. (He recommends the Sumdex E-Tech Messenger bag. Though I don't have one, I have to agree that it DOES look like a nicer bag for a few more bucks. DO check it out.)

REBUTTAL: Yes, the hooks are plastic, but they're a very thick plastic. If his Targus is squeaking at the shoulder strap hooks, then he MUST have it WAY overloaded beyond the recommended weight limit. Even if the strap hooks somehow break in the future, this thing has a lifetime replacement warranty.

Veruca Salt writes: "I'm concerned long term use will lead to the handle failing and my laptop on the ground broken. I will be replacing this bag as soon as I can because I'd rather spend $70 on a bag than hundreds of dollars for a new computer."
REBUTTAL: IF--and I say IF--the handle fails, you are going to see stress and wear LONG before it actually snaps. The handle material is very durable. There is NO way it is going to suddenly and "mysteriously" fail with no advance warning, first.

The Targus TCM004US is a fabulous bag. I put in a 15-inch laptop and it fit snugly and looked great. Best of all, it has a very fashionable design that's not too bulky and looks great on the subway or street. I LOVE this bag!

The case is very useful and elegant. It is strong and have an excellent price. The service from the seller and Amazon was excellent. The item arrived on time and in good conditions.

What a great laptop bag. I got it for a dell laptop and wow, this thing is nice. The price is very low for the nice quality. Has a big full size zipper pocket with lots of extra space for cords, cds, mouse, ect..and small pockets for cds, pens, mouse, whatever. The flap encloses all the pockets so nothing gets lost, even if left unzipped. This bag really impressed me. Targus has nice bags.

I needed a new bag because I forgot my old one in my ex-gf's car and when I tried to get it back, she said she lost it. I bought this bag because it was the cheapest one that Amazon had, but I don't recommend this one. It's too small. As you can see in the pictures, there's one main compartment for your laptop, a smaller compartment, and that's it. So you put your laptop in with your folders and it's all jumbled together in the bigger section of the bag. It needs different compartments in the big section to keep things in order. My old bag had multiple dividers and compartments and it rocked.

Plus, there's no front zipper compartment like in many other bags. I like putting pens and small items there for convenience and I couldn't do that with this bag. I like being able to just unzip the front section to get some mints instead of having to open the bag and dig through my stuff to find the box of Altoids.

Also, watch out for the handle. It's not a padded handle but it's like a weird hard plastic one. I don't think it will be sturdy enough if you have to carry lots of things everyday in the bag and will mess up your hands after awhile.

On the plus side, the bag material looks pretty good and seems like it's good quality. But it still doesn't make up for the design flaws.

Instead of this bag, I recommend the Sumdex E-Tech Messenger. It looks better, has more room and compartments, and feels stronger than this bag.

This bag is perfect if you're looking for a simple case. I can fit my 15" notebook, power cord, notebook cooler, USB cable and still have room left over for a few small odds & ends. Highly recommended for the price-conscious.

Durable, and cheap, its 20 bucks, it's ok, I mean you will get the same out of other bags at double the price, but really holding a bag at the store, checking it out, feeling it and seeing the size of all the compartments, how it hangs, the handle, really makes you feel comfortable knowing what you are buying. The bag is fine, if not for the price I will never buy bags online. I have a number of bags, I got this one because when visiting factories, you don't want to look ragged but you don't want to dirty your nice bag. Am I happy? yes I am.

I just acquired a laptop and needed a soft side case. This works great.

I wouldn't use this bag to carry a laptop through an airport or any other activity in which I would expect the bag to actually protect my computer. I regret that I did not spend more money to purchase a sturdier bag. It would have been a wise investment.

Just what I needed for my documents, it is convenient and good quality, I like the different pockets to store different things separately and organized, if you're someone who uses public transport takes into account that it is big and a little uncomfortable if you have to move into spaces filled with people, apart from that it is excellent.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Unbelievable price, well cushioned, and most of all, I no longer have to carry my laptop around in the open like a caveman.

Fits my 15"4 laptop perfectly. Good storage space included. Good buy for the price.

Perfect size and lightweight for my laptop, charger, mouse and anything else I need to carry along with me for my laptop. Very sturdy; will last forever!~

This bag is great for the price (I picked it up for 17.99 +shipping) holds my 15.4 laptop fine, padding is sufficient to keep it safe. There is a compartment inside the bag that is able to hold 4-5 folders or maybe one small textbook and a folder, room for pencils and pens and other items. Sturdy bag, have been using it for a month and seems to be able to carry the weight of a full load.

The only qualms I have with this bag is...

The hook that the straps hook into is plastic, and the endpoints on the shoulder straps are also plastic....Plastic on Plastic = very bad. When I'm walking I hear *squeak squeak squeak squeak* It can be very annoying. On several occasions I have been walking with a friend and they look around and ask me "where is that sound coming from!?" I'm going to put just a small bit of Vaseline on where they touch and maybe that will dampen the noise.

Also, the compartment that holds the charger could be a little bigger, but it does the job.

Just returned from a trip and the case did the trick. Easy access and storage. Good way to stay organized!!

Basic case that is reasonably priced which is why I bought this one. With case prices being so varied, I figured I would get this. Does what is suppossed to do, decent protection for the laptop and able to keep me organized.

If you are not sure which to get, this is one you cannot go wrong with.

The first thing I can say about this product is that shipping was great! I ordered it Friday night and Monday afternoon the product had arrived at my doorstep. The bag is great. Nice, durable material, lots of pockets, a good amount of space...and it holds my 15.4 in Dell Inspiron laptop perfectly. Great buy for the price...I would definitely recommend.

I bought this bag for my boyfreind for Valentine's Day and he absolutely loved it. He said it is not bulky, it has just enough room on the inside for everything he needs. It is basic, but fashionable.

Quality product, well constructed with extra padding for laptop protection, only downside is its not made to be a backpack for books, unless of course you want your mouse, headphones, power cord, LAN cord in same pouch as your books.

I bought this to carry our XPS M1330 and it is perfectly suited for the task. The laptop fits fine and is aptly protected. Another large zippered pocket holds all the cords, mouse, .... plus there are several extra smaller pockets for cds and other assorted items. It does the job and it was a bargain to boot!
