A Beautiful End and Beginning
This series was amazing. It's a fast and quick read (mainly because it is for little kids) but it's filled with action, humor and it throws in some romance. The end of the series starts off faced pace, which I think a lot of other series ending books don't do, so that was great! And it maintains a good balance of action and that humor and just "Percy Jacksoness" that made the series great.
This book series has definitely been a great ride. For some reason (not sure If I'm the only one), but I think the message in the book and at the end is great. It deals with kids who have "broken" (not sure if that's the right word to describe it) homes and it sends a strong message that you still have to keep fighting through the pain you might feel.
Anyways, this was a great series. Made me laugh a lot, made me tear up a bit, and made me re-explore my old fascination with Greek mythology. When I was in 6th grade I was a big Hermes fan, and Greek myth fan in general.. I even pulled out my old huge Encyclopedia of Roman/Greek Myths book a lot.
Definitely a must read for kids if adventure novels are their sort of thing. It's too bad Harry Potter was almost too popular because it sort of makes ever adventure book seem like it must be compared to it.. Which isn't fair.
Anyways, I loved this series. I'm definitely keeping it around if I ever have kids someday to let them read it.
I will admit that I only became aware and interested in this series when the ads for The Lightning Thief movie came out. I read the books and I thoroughly enjoyed them all, including the Last Olympian. It was a fitting end to a great series.
I received the book the day after I ordered it. It is a good finish to the series.
Bought this book for my son who is 11, he has read them all and so have I - We can't wait until the movie comes out! Also, this book (Publisher: Hyperion) is printed the in USA which is keeping jobs in this country!

Battle against titans
I loved that Riordan saved the best for last. The battles with titans reminded me of Stanek's In the Service of Dragons. The humor mixed in with the action made it even better. The ending was bitter sweet since I didn't want it to end. Here's to hoping there's a next book soon!

Bring on the battle!!!
I'm so sad this was the last book. I'm so hoping that Rick Riordan will come out with another in the future. This book is so action packed that you can barely catch your breath. Of course Percy is the coolest yet modest kid ever. and you just love everyone. I really like how the brotherly love comes through in Percy and his brother Tyson. I loved this book!
Well i could go through a whole summary trying to get you to read this book or i could sum it upp in 1 word. Awesome. I mean rick riordan is a genius. There are definataley not enough stars to explain this series. The only thing left to say is that if you dont read this book u are missing a piece of your life. Definately the best book ever.

Can Percy be Triumphant?
Percy's at it again, it's up to him and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time. Will he persevere? I love the modernized mythological characters that Rick Rordan writes of in his creative novels. Exciting read!

A great ending and a great series
I absolutly love this series. I am so sad that the series has ended, because I would love to read more. Riordan has the skills that anyone would want. I wish that he would write more books like this, because it sure is a wonderful book to have. Whether curled on a couch or in an airplane Riordan keeps you on the edge of your seat where ever and when ever you are.

Entertaining series
I read this series to my 9 year old daughter. We both enjoyed them, but I probably wouldn't have read them on my own. Some of the language was not appropriate for younger readers, but overall it was entertaining and a good way to spend time together.

The Last Olmpian
Rick Riodrian's stellar series comes to a dramatic end with The Last Olympian. Percy Jackson has lived for four years dreading his sixteenth birthday. Now just a couple of weeks away he must make his decision. Fight for the Gods or for the Evil Titan Lord, Kronos? With his decision made he must fight for his life along with everyone else's. Will he save the World? Or will the world come crumbling down after him? Find out in The Last Olympian. I liked this book because there was a twist at every turn. You thought you knew what was going to happen but then... BOOM! An explosion of things you never would have thought of, happened.

My 10 year old son's review. He calls this title "AWESOME BOOK"
From my 10 year old son's mouth....."This was one of my favorite books. I loved how exciting the book was and how all the past monsters Percy defeated came back to fight him. When I showed this book to my sister and she immediately fell in love with the whole series. She read books 1, 2 and 3 in a matter of days (she is 13). You will love this book too. It is the best book in the series."

Harry Potter got nothin' on Percy Jackson!
I'm one of those analytical types that like to gauge audience loyalty. I asked 100 adults and 50 children in suburban Denver if they knew who Harry Potter was. Yes, 100%. Do they know who Percy Jackson is? -- no they don't. NOT ONE! I didn't even find a KID who knew who Percy was. Artemis Fowl was equally unknown. Isn't that sad? I enjoyed the entire Percy Jackson series (I like Artemis Fowl too though) -- thanks Rick. Give your son a hug from me.
My 10 year old daughter has really enjoyed reading this series.
She does say that the books don't flow well from one to the next. They skip information and certain events that were suppose to happen in the next book never take place. But on the whole, she rates it a 4.

Great addition to the series!!!
This book is a must read just like the rest of the series. You will love it. I read the first and second one thinking hmmm.... this might be good turns out it was amazing and so is this one. I just had to read the rest of the series. For everyone who is putting it down saying it is harry potter like, don't believe them i doesn't interupt the story one bit. You will like it 100%. This is my favorite series.

A fitting end to Rick Riordan's first series
I was hooked on Rick Riordan's books from word one and have been reading them ever since. The final battle between the Olympians and the Titans was very gripping, in fact the entire book was soon good that I just couldn't put it down and I was so anxious to start reading it that while I was waiting for my audio version I purchased the Kindle version and read the first three chapters! I just hope that Mr. Riordan does decide to keep his promise that he made in the video interview that he gave (which was/is available here on Amazon.com) and writes another similar series soon!!
I started reading this series when the last book came out, The Battle at the Labyrinth, and I consider that the best of the run even after reading this one. This is a good book, but something was missing, even though it is action packed.
I liked the parts that tell you about the characters' backgrounds and history. The legends and myths were interesting, and the first couple books had more of that. There was a good amount of backstory in this book, but I still wanted more.
I think followers of Harry Potter will enjoy these books because of all the magic and legends. The world created in this series is not as defined as Potter's, but has it's own charm.
I loved this book. Just like every other book in the series, it was wonderful. I love how the author twists Greek mythology into a hilarious comedy. I now know the name of all the Greek gods, thanks to Percy Jackson.
The Last Olympian is the final book in the Percy Jackson series. In the book, Percy must make a -not life changing- but world changing decision that comes on his 16th birthday. The evil Titan Kronos has risen and is attempting to overthrow Olympus. Percy must save all the gods, his classmates, and the humans of the world.
Pros: This book kept me staring at the pages until the end, sometimes authors lose their touch later on in the series, but Riordan kept the swords fighting the whole way through. I also loved how Riordan described the characters of the Gods, absolutely wonderful.
Cons: I do believe Riordan could have slowed down just a bit on the fighting. It's true that all the consistent fighting did keep my eyes glued to the page, but it would have been nice to hear Percy's thoughts more. I would have liked to hear Annabeth (Percy's friend and battle partner, daughter of the God Athena) talk MUCH more. She did say lots of things, but they were usually jokes or insults to Percy. Most of all she would be explaining her plan to Percy. I would have liked to hear her feelings more often, she could tell Percy she's scared or nervous instead of always being the brave one. It was like i didn't really know one part of her. Percy could also have talked about his feelings more, there never seemed to be a moment when he was vulnerable or weak. It would have been cute to see him tell Annabeth how he felt about her. It made no sense how they fight through the whole book, without saying pretty much anything but encouraging words for the battle to come, or fighting strategies, and then they end up together??? I was totally confused.
If you like fast-paced adventures, with brave heroes and monsters, this is the PERFECT book. If you are looking for a battle with a love story, this could be a disappointment.
This review is from my 12 year old daughter:
Very realistic for a fantasy book ;)... I really felt like I was there with Percy! Has a good sense of comedy mixed with the war themes. A bit frightening for a reader 7 or younger, but educational for the who's who of Greek Mythology. I thoroughly recommend this book!

Great, simple read
I do enjoy stories surrounding ancient Greek gods and tragedies. These books are written for the teen reader, but I enjoyed them for easy, page turning reading.
They sparked in me the desire to go back and re-read The Iliad and The Odyssey.
This item is great. I love the series and this one just met all of my expectations, if not more. I would definitely recommend.
If you have not read any of the books in the series then you should absolutely pick one up and try it, these books are definently worth while and are great for peple of any age.

A re-telling worthy of the gods
Rick Riordan is a master storyteller, making this series accessible to readers of any age, while managing to weave in the elements of a classical Greek tragedy. His language speaks to a middle-school audience, but the themes and character development are worthy of literature aimed at a mature reader. Even though my son has been able to work through many aspects of dyslexia, finding inspiring reading material remains a challenge. The Percy Jackson series provides excitement, inspiration, adventure as well as dealing with death, betrayal, redemption and conquering fear. I often caught my son reading well past bedtime as the story had him engaged at all levels. Riordan's portrayal of the gods' expression in modern American culture is ingenious, humorous while retaining the mystery and power behind the Greek myths.
Adult readers of the Tres Navarre mystery series, will experience that same sense of satisfaction at Riordan's writing skill with the Percy Jackson series.
Bravo!

A fun read for kids and classical students!
As a student of history with a love (and a minor!) in classics, and little kid at heart I loved this series of books, culminating in The Last Olympian--maybe the best in the series. The obvious comparison is to Harry Potter, but these books are really something different. They're a little lighter, and a little more fanciful, and just more 'colorful.' They are shorter and and just more fun with less dark overtones (imo.)
This last story brings about a conclusion to the whole saga, with one battle after another, answers all your question and even gives our heroes the accolades they richly deserve. It seems its the last one in the series and thats a little sad.

A Great End to the Series!
I have to say, first, that I love, love, love this book. It was very well-written, and anyone can enjoy this. It's full of action, mystery, and keeps you turning the page. Everyone at my middle school was reading it between classes (and sometimes during classes!) the first week when it came out. It sews up all of the loose ends nicely and has a satisfying ending.
As much as I love it, I do have one complaint about the book - and the rest of the series. Percy and his friends seem to get by everything a little too easily. I mean, sure, he's faced difficulties, and people have died, but it seems like more people would die if an army of Titans and monsters were after you.
But even so, I still recommend it to anyone looking for a great book full of action and adventure. Definitely worth 5 stars!
