[+] 2.0 Disappointed
Very disappointed with this product, I can not open it in any of my three computers. The only way to retreat photos is to plug the camera to the computer.

[+] 10.0 Very Cheap!
A great product with a greater price!
I'm using this piece with my Canon XSi camera, and it's performing wonderfully so far. Very quick in processing 12.2 MP images, no worries there. Recommended.

[+] 2.0 What an idiot I was
After buying the card, i was really happy using it. First, after 1 month one day I had an unreadable image in my card, but did not realize the danger at that time.

Then 2 weeks ago, all the images in the card suddenly become unreadable. I had almost 150 pictures that weren't uploaded yet, constituting every picture I took this month.

I paid 1100$ for the camera. Than for "saving" money i used my mind and get this cheap card with good reviews. Than, i lost all the pictures i took in 1 month. After spending 1100$ on a camera, now all my images for 30 days of my life, including very important ones, are lost. Comparing the amount i spend on taking a picture, with the amount i spend for storing it, now i understand how clever I am.

Nice capacity. Only after a long time of using it I can say how robust is this memory card.

[+] 8.0 A great buy, but....
there's just a few caveats.

First, be aware that the card does NOT come with a case. This may or may not matter to you, but it seems like deception by omission that no one informs you. I bought this card along with the 4 GB card for my DSLR, and it ended up being a serious issue for me, since I can only have one card in my camera at a time, and the other card is left unprotected.

Second, the 8GB card is oh-so-slightly thicker than other SD cards (the 4GB is fine). This means that it gets stuck in SD card slots (or at least, it does on my Canon XSi), but all it takes is a little pushing and jiggling, and it comes out every time.

Finally, be aware that although it is rated Class 6, it isn't quite as fast as the pricier alternatives. I had never encountered a delay when shooting in burst, but when I used the Transcend cards, my camera was incapacitated for a good 10 seconds after shooting a burst of 8 shots or so.

However, even with these issues in mind, I thought the card was an excellent purchase. At one point, Amazon offered this same card with a memory card reader for only a dollar more, which would have been the ultimate deal, but I'll settle for this. It works, it's cheap, and I would certainly recommend it.

Still, I've only had the card for about a month, and you never know about quality......

[+] 10.0 Very good product.
I recently bought two of these 8GB SDHC cards, one for my Canon SD1000 camera and the other for my COWON D2. The cards work very well and I've had no problems with it so far. I even use it for videos and there is no delay. In my D2 it works flawlessly. This is a high quality SDHC card and is cheap.

Pros:

- Lifetime warranty
- Class 6 read/write speed (the fastest speed currently available)
- Affordable

Cons:

- None

I'm thinking of buying the 16GB version.

[+] 2.0 Dead on arrival
The memory card was dead on arrival, so I sent it back and got my money back. Hassel free return process, but it was annoying that I didn't get a working card in time for when I needed it.

[+] 2.0 the card does not work
After I opened the package and inserted the card into my computer, the computer did not recognize the card. I also tried with my digital camera and the camera said that the card was not useful. This is the first SD card I encountered that is bad out of package. I returned the card and am very disappointed.

Purchased this card nearly a year ago (27DEC07)for $44.59 here at Amazon to use with Canon PowerShot SD870 IS. Has performed flawless! Takes fast pics and great videos. I'm about to pick up a second one to have as a spare.

Works great with my Canon SD1000. Stores thousands of photos or over an hour of 30 fps video. Fast downloads to my Mac. Cost less than $17 shipped. Not much to complain about.

[+] 10.0 Ridiculously cheap. Fairly fast.
I own several of these cards, and they're an incredible bargain. Whether it be taking video, or taking pictures, I've never had a problem using it in several different cameras. It is fast enough to shoot video without a problem, and it is much faster than my standard Sandisk SD cards. There are faster cards out there, but nowhere near this price. Highly recommended.

[+] 6.0 Cheap, but not fast
I bought this memory card simply for the size and the price. The card holds a ton of pictures, but it's slow at writing the pictures to the memory card. When taking video, the memory card will take a long time write. No big deal, but I've definitely missed some great moments waiting for the card to finish. If you are looking for size and price this is great, but if you want speed look for something else.

[+] 10.0 Awesome for the price
I bought this memory card for my Canon SD1100is, it works great and at 8MP can hold about 1,900 pictures. If only I would have waited until they came out with the frustration-free packaging for this! That was by far the most annoying part, trying to get into the thing. Do yourself a favor and buy the one with the new packaging! --> Transcend TS8GSDHC6E 8 GB SDHC Card (SD 2.0 SPD Class 6) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] Oh, I should also add that amazon is the best place to buy any kind of memory card. I've compared prices with stores and they're always about twice as much there as on amazon. The money you can save is worth waiting a day or two to get it.

[+] 2.0 Doesn't work in Palm TX
The Palm TX has a SDHC card slot. This card would not work. In fact, the TX
couldn't even 'see' it when loaded in the slot. There's no info in the Transcend product description indicating incompatibility with the Palm. Was never able to determine how the card would perform otherwise.

[+] 8.0 Good, but no case - pay a little more for the other version
I ordered a few of these for an upcoming trip to hold my pictures and other media files. They all are fine. However, I also ordered this:
Transcend TS8GSDHC6-S5W 8GB SDHC6 Memory Card with Card Reader which I would suggest you order instead.

The other option is only a few dollars more, includes the exact same 8GB memory card, but has 2 important benefits:
(1) it comes with a memory card reader for easy upload to devices with a USB port and
(2) it includes a case for the memory card, which this version doesn't.
It's so much easier to switch between memory cards if you have somewhere safe to put them when they're not in a camera or computer, and this version doesn't offer a case.

[+] 2.0 If You Do Not Mind Being Ripped Off For Shipping...
The price for this item was the best, but what I have to warn all of you about is the shipping. If you are ordering more than 1 item from this company, DO NOT believe the shipping chart they show! This is a complete bait and switch from what is listed on they're company site shipping list. I ordered 4 of these cards and it all shipped together, my order clearly said that the shipping charge was $6.95 for USPS First Class Mail padded pack, that must have cost, maybe $5.00 to ship. I was charged $27.92 for shipping!

I know what you are thinking, that you review your order completely before accepting and I missed it....I am the fool that missed that these liars charged me the shipping rate x4.... well I had ordered about 6 other things from all different companies and somehow I missed this. My fault yes, but just don't let it be yours!

I was going to cancel this order on Sun. morning when I noticed the HUGE shipping cost and they had already emailed me that morning 9/28/08, saying that they had processed and shipped my order, so I can not cancel it because it has been 'shipped' already! On Sunday, through USPS!?! LIARS!! I am stuck paying the highway robbery price of shipping anyways, so I send them a complaint email, through amazon, that I am still waiting on a response from them. Oh, and did I mention, that then 3 days later on Wed. 10/1/08 I get another email from them telling me my items had actually now shipped! Irony really setting in now, that I had received all other ordered items now except the one I paid the most for...I could have canceled my order and stopped this rip-off from happening. Yes, I am the fool, but they are the liars. Please spend the extra 5¢ and order from ANYONE ELSE.

Very disappointed and dissatisfied customer!

[+] 8.0 Great product! Awsome price!
The Transcend TS8GSDHC6 8GB SDHC card is sold at a great price. My local Sams Club sells a 2GB SD card for 19.95. This seller has a better deal.

I will be using this product in my Sanyo VPC HD100 camcorder to document the slopes and shores of Lake Tahoe.

[+] 4.0 Quirky.
I bought this SD card for 2 applications:

1) I am a musician who records himself and his students practicing with a "mere" digital pocket camera (both a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4K 8.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black) and a Canon PowerShot A720IS 8MP Digital Camera with 6x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom, depending on which movie format I need -- this card works great in both) set on "movie" mode. I've reached the point where I've needed more storage time than I had on the high-performance/speed 2GB Kingston and SanDisk cards I was using, and this card has performed remarkably well.

2) I also make audio-only recordings of myself, as well as rehearsals and performances of larger ensembles I play with on my Zoom H2 Handy Portable Stereo Recorder, and this card should provide about 8-hours of recording time at CD quality. I tend to record at higher quality levels (up to 96kHz, 24-bit), so I need more recording space than most. The device (advertised to accept up to 16GB SD cards) takes a while to recognize this card and to format it, but it seems to work pretty well after that.

I was VERY impressed with this card, and the price is almost so low it's scary -- but I believe it's worth it, at least for recording video. As for audio....

The biggest negative is that once it has a bunch of data on it, it takes a VERY long time to format (also, the H2 can't recognize it -- not even to reformat for its own use -- if it's been formatted for the Canon, and I haven't had this problem with other SD cards). I had it about 1/2 full with .avi files, and it took 15 MINUTES (!!!) to format on a Core2 Quad Processor (Q6600) with 4 GB of RAM through the computer's media port slots (connected via an internal USB bus). Most SD cards of 2GB-4GB take only a matter of SECONDS to format this way; this card formatted in seconds also the FIRST time, but subsequent attempts have taken MUCH longer, as described above.

This has me a bit nervous as to what's going on. Is the computer having to fix data errors on the card along the way? What's the holdup? I'm concerned enough that I won't be using this card to record my more important gigs -- it will remain in my case as an emergency backup.

Recommended with hesitation....

[+] 10.0 Great card, cheap price
I bought 2 of these prior to a two-week trip to Alaska for use in a Canon Powershot S5 IS camera. They worked great - no issues and seemed to be just as fast as my camera.
Bought a additional two cards prior to a tri-continental trip. So I have four of these in total and have almost filled up all of them. No issues were experienced. Very happy with the purchase, especially the price! Bought all of them directly from Amazon rather than the other retailers.
Bought a memory card reader at the same time since my printer doesn't read SDHC (most older devices won't read SDHC).

[+] 10.0 Excellent SDHC Card at Unbeatable Price
I purchased this card to use in my MP3 player (one of the Insignia models from Best Buy). Having bought into the Sandisk hype for years, I decided the substantially lower cost of the Transcend made it worth a try. It works great and the class 6 speed is very fast compared to slower cards. The lifetime warranty can't be beat.

I've used it for 6 months with no issues at all. I'm so impressed that I'm buying another to upgrade the smaller 2Gb card in my wife's Nikon D40. The price on this card fluctuates, so with a little patience you can get it less than $20 (Fall 08).

As others have commented, please note that this card is a high capacity (SDHC) card. It is not compatible with every SD device in existence. Do your homework before you buy to make sure your device and/or card reader works with SDHC cards. Don't assume!

Bottom line: Highly recommended for devices that accept SDHC cards.

[+] 10.0 Transcend 8GB review
Wow is all that I have to say! My wife and I went on a 1 week vacation so I decided to buy this memory card to cover MOST of the trip. Well, I didn't expect that after a week full of photos and video...I still have so much more space on this card. I wish I'd taken more video because I was conserving gigs but little did I know that I had 6 gigs left after a whole week! I recommend this card to everyone because it doesn't fail for whatever you plan on using this for.

[+] 2.0 Worthless memory card
I purchased this memory along with a Canon XSi. The card would allow the camera to take pictures and would save them to be viewed via the camera's preview function, but I could not download any of the pictures to a computer or printer. I couldn't even recover the files using some high end data recovery software. I have since been using several of my 1GB Sandisk memory cards that I use with my point-and-shoot cameras and they work perfectly. Don't waste your money on this worthless piece of silicon and plastic. It's not worth the hassle.

[+] 2.0 Card Failure
I bought this item a few months back for an ASUS Eee PC. Sometime later the Eee PC went south in odd ways, and after some tinkering I managed to isolate the 8 GB flash card as a suspect. I reformatted it and put it in a digital camera to see if I got errors there.

It worked fine for a while and then I started to get errors while trying to dump pictures from the card after plugging it into my HP desktop. The first error I recovered the card after a file system repair, the second time the card had to be reformatted. Since I couldn't trust it, I tossed it. Incidentally, the HP desktop worked fine with other flash cards.

I would say that the card worked fine most of the time in both the Eee PC and the digital camera. Since I have only one sample point to consider, there's no way I have of knowing if there was a real problem with the product, or if the chip I bought was an "outlier" and other chips work fine in general. But I throw out my experience as a data point.
