[+] 4.0 Great Phone for 18 Months
Got the phone from Sam's Club at a great price and it worked well for about 18 months. Then, the ringers on the base handset and another handset stopped working. No matter how much you increase the ring volume on the handset, the ring remains at such a low volume that you cannot hear it unless you hold the handset to your ear. Have completed all the troubleshooting one would need or care to do.

[+] 2.0 V-Tech rip-off
Have owned this set of phones for a little over 3 years.
All was well till the batteries needed replacing after a year. Called all over this city and found the battery only at one specialty retailer. Got online to the V-Tech site and ordered two of the three (third handset still alive)at a cost of $20 apiece. Less than a year later, the batteries began losing their charge and we keep them on the cradles all the time...very annoying. Now all three need replacing, and do you think I will spend $60+shipping for this junk? HA! What a rip-off!
So have just replaced the phones with an entirely different, highly rated brand. Will NEVER buy V-Tech again. What good is a dead phone???

[+] 2.0 WARNING: DO NOT BUY!
This is by far the WORST set of cordless phones we have ever had! After only around 6 monthes the phones started malfunctioning majorly. The charge would not hold more than three minutes after being removed from the charger, the phone would say "UNAVAILABLE" when we tried to answer it, and after hanging up the phone it would start to ring again for no reason. Thankfully, where we purchased the phone they were able to return it no box, no reciept, no problem. Just make sure that if you choose to buy this phone you go to a reputable store with a good return policy.

[+] 2.0 Worst phone ever owned
Nice looking, sleek design. That's about all this phone has going for it. We've had the phone for less than a year. My biggest issues in order or importance are:
1) Battery - 2 of the 3 handsets DO NOT work anymore...battery completely DEAD! Charge on the remaining handset only lasts a few minutes and disconnects in the middle of my conversations, even after being charged all day and night. I'm sure this one will be completely DEAD soon.
2) Directory - Numbers stored in one handset cannot be shared between the other 2 handsets. Each handset must be programmed individually.
3) Flash button - Does not work. When I have a call waiting, and hit the Talk/Flash button, it hangs up on everyone.
4) Customer Service - When I called Vtech, it does not allow me to speak to a person. It prompts me through 100 different options but none allows me to speak directly to a live representative.
THE PHONE IS JUNK. I will be replacing it today!

[+] 10.0 Hottest cordless phone!!!
This has to be one of the Hottest cordless phone devices on the market to date! When I first started my search online for a cordless phone for my new apartment, the website for Vtech came up showing this phone system, I could not believe the look & style of these phones. (When you go to a relative or friends house, how many of them have a cordless phone that looks like this? Seriously!) I came here and read some reviews as I do with all of the products I want to purchase from Amazon, and I wasn't the least bit phased by the negative reviews some folks had wrote about this phone. It sounds like folks are looking for a cellular phone rather than a cordless phone system for their home. Most of it sounded like complaining, over minor problems that can easily be solved. Everything about this phone works perfectly, the sound is absolutely crystal clear (I can walk anywhere in my apartment and get clear quality sound without any type of disturbances at all), I charged the battery as suggested in the manual and the battery has not let me down at all & it has been well over 6 months since I set up the product in my home & its still working like new, the answering service is on point, (I have caller ID)- the display reads the names clearly, to store the names and numbers in the phone book is really simple and not complicated (its like storing contacts in a cell phone)I didn't even need the manual for setting up the phones, most of it is common sense to me. No body I know owns a cordless phone like this. The phone may not work for everybody obviously, but it works great for me! I say buy it, & try it for yourself. Great phone!

[+] 4.0 battery does not quit charging
The battery does not stop charging. Instead, the battery keeps on heating up while charging continiously.

[+] 4.0 phone battery don't last long
Clear calls, but battery life in headset don't last very long. Recommend you buy replacement batteries, because the ones they come with won't hold a charge for very long. Batteries cost about 20 bucks a piece.

[+] 2.0 Looks great, terrible battery life
I loved the way this phone looked so I got it. The battery life is TERRIBLE! Only a few hours, even if not in use. We lost one of the handsets, and since it had died I couldn't page it. It's still lost to this day. Now I find out that they are not expandable!!! How terrible! I'm going to order a Uniden like everyone I know suggests. This is definitely the worst phone I've ever owned. Don't let the cool looks fool you.

[+] 4.0 Sound Quality Good but Lacks Important Features
The vtech unit looks nice and the sound quality is good. However if you need multiple handsets you might not like this phone. vtech says you can store 50 phone book entries. This is fine but you need to program each handset individually. There is no facility to send your stored numbers to the other handsets. This can be a problem is you have a large phone book.

Another problem is if you want to delete a phone book entry. The manual does not tell you how to do that. The manual does tell you how to delete recent calls. I tried that procedure and it worked for numbers in your directory.

If you use the single handset model then I would say this is a very nice phone. If you want multiple handsets then I suggest you look to another vendor.

[+] 8.0 so far so good
This would be a five star except they don't allow you to expand the system as other reviews point out. Apart from that I use a phone for the very basic functionality and might only occasionally use the redial, hands free and mute. Creating directories I leave that to my daughter. So far i have found the voice quality to be excellent, the styling is great and is really comfortable to hold for long periods. The hands free voice is very clear. No problems with battery life and the keypad I have found to be easy to use with big keys. I contacted customer services about the extra handsets (yes I should have read the reviews first) and they responded as promised within 24 hours. If this phone lives up to its early praise I will just buy another package and plug it in somewhere else, not really a problem

[+] 10.0 Very nice phone for this family!
I have tried many phones, especially the 3-handset phones which are a great invention when you have a large house and not so many phone lines. (Plug in the phone line and the other 2 just plug into an electrical outlet in the wall.) Anyway, I'm not looking for a phone to cook dinner, I just wanted them to go the distance. Voices sound great, not like they are in a hole plus no echo. Caller ID shows up, there is a call log so you can check missed calls, a redial button, mute, and a keypad that is flat so extremely easy to keep clean. I love the slenderness of the phone (almost cell phone thin) plus the bottom half of the phone is curved out to avoid the "cheek cut-off" malfunction. Also I like that the main cradle is made to sit upright so you can easily see if you have messages when you walk into the room without having to go over and look directly down at it. It was so simple to program with a voice message and has a button to choose how many rings you want it to ring before the answering service kicks on. Overall this is a great phone for the money. If you want all those other features, pick something else. This one is what it is. ;)

[+] 4.0 Average Phone
I agree with many points that other reviewers have made. Overall, the sound quality is great and it is a nice looking phone. However, there are many disappointments:
1. No expandibility
2. Cannot share phone directory between hand sets
3. Poor battery life - our handsets will die in less than a day if left off of the charger

This will most likely be my last Vtech phone, every time I purchase one there are too many "gotchas".

[+] 2.0 Terrible Battery Life
Phone seems nice, but I haven't gone to the trouble (as others have pointed out) of adding phonebook entries, because we're probably going to return the phones. A fully-charged phone gets the low-batter warning after only a few hours off of the cradle, and will die completely overnight.
Since we often leave our phones off the hook during the day, and we have kids that sometimes misplace them, a decent battery life is necessary...

[+] 6.0 Can't multitask while using this phone!
OVERALL:
This would be the perfect phone with the following improvements:
- better menus
- ability to add a headset (or at least better speakerphone)
- ability to expand beyond 3 handsets

DETAILS:

Pros:
1. Smart physical design: When holding it to your ear, you won't accidentally press keys with your cheek
2. Looks an order of magnitude better than other (affordable) models
3. Sounds great
4. Latest DECT technology (for those worried about interference &/or eavesdropping)
5. Each member of the family can have his/her own directory of ph#s (the flipside of Con#6)
6. Big numbers, nicely illuminated
7. Intercom feature is convenient & easy to use
8. Really cool to be able to transfer a call to a different part of the house (and easy enough once you get used to it).

Cons:
1. No headphone option!! I was shocked to discover this. There's simply no input, anywhere. Might not be such a big deal, but...
2. The speakerphone is almost unusable, due to having to wait for utter silence plus a beat before you can speak, so that it goes through to the other party (otherwise you get cut off). Most speakerphones operate similarly, but this model seems more extreme than what I'm used to.
3. Trying to cradle such a thin phone to your shoulder seems crazy, therefore (given the above), don't plan on doing anything in the background while talking on this phone. Plan on going old-school, where you sit down and just talk, every time you use the phone. (If I had understood this limitation, I wouldn't have bought this phone.)
4. Can't expand beyond the 3 handsets.
5. Navigation of the menus could be easier (see other reviews for full details).
6. Can't share ph# directories among handsets (flipside of Pro#6 above)
