Great gas grill, easy to use. Propane 14.1 ounce cans are plentful at the Home Depot. Fun item!

[+] 8.0 Missing parts
I ordered this grill based on the excellent reviews and paid extra for the 2-day shipping so that I could start grilling ASAP. We tore into the box, excited to put the grill together and get a BBQ going. And had to stop, because we were missing one of the screws to attach the handle to the grill cover, as well as one of the fasteners to attach the grill cover to the grill.

What a pain. We searched through all of the packaging to no avail. Wound up having to go to Home Depot for parts. The grill itself looks fine, but you'd expect it to arrive with all of the necessary parts.

[+] 10.0 Q100 exceeded expectations ~ All I had hoped for and more
When unpacking this little gem, don't panic, as I did, if you suddenly think someone forgot to include the cooking grate. It is under a piece of cardboard in the very bottom of the box. Assembly is minimal - fasten the handle, insert the lid's hinge pins and set the cooking grate in place - done.

Rather than using a small gas tank that would screw right onto the grill, I chose to use a large tank connected via hose to the grill. Moving the grill from garage to patio while attached to a large tank can be done safely and easily by removing the cooking grate, lifting the grill by it's left handle with one hand and grabbing the tank in the other.

Cleaning: A stiff bristle brush for the cooking grate is a must. A cloth does a fine job on the grill's interior and lining the drip pan with aluminum foil eliminates cleaning there.

I have found the Q100 to be a well thought out, easy to use, durable design which may well prove to be the last gas grill I ever buy, unless I find myself repeatedly cooking for LARGE crowds. (That's not going to happen.)

All in all, this product appears to be of lasting quality. I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend.

I can't really say anything bad about this grill. It is easy to assemble, easy to use, and it is really of nice quality. Thanks, Weber!

[+] 10.0 Weber Q100
I'll never buy a large grill on a stand ever again. The Weber Q100 is portable so I can take in inside the shed or garage out of the weather after every use. It's made out of cast aluminum and the grid is cast iron. Very easy to clean and nothing to rust away over a period of time. I will be using this grill for many, many years to come.

[+] 10.0 Excellent grill
I purchased this product a few months ago and LOVE IT. I have found there are no hot spots that cook the meet faster in certain places. It is small enough that I can carry it in and out of our Florida room for easy storage. The ignition switch works on the first click unlike other grills. I can fit 6 burgers on the grate, 8 if I squeeze them in and they are all done at the same time. It's perfect for a smaller family of 2 or 3 people. Very easy to assemble. I also like that I can purchase equipment at a later time to make it like a standard grill like the rolling cart.

[+] 10.0 Best grill I've ever owned
This is by far the best grill, large or small, that I've ever owned. It heats evenly and fast. It is easy to clean and more durable than other grills. It's compact size makes it perfect for camping trips in our RV. I recommend it to everyone.

[+] 10.0 The Grill to End All Grills
I am writing this review after having had this grill for a year, so I feel like I can make a relatively sound recommendation. This grill is fantastic. It lights with the push of a button the first time, every single time. The heavy, cast iron grate gives you restaurant quality grill marks on all of your food, which helps to impart a great taste to everything. I have solved the problem of being constrained to use the small portable propane tanks. We now use a standard 20 gallon propane tank attached to an adapter hose which we bought at one of the major home improvement stores. We turn the gas on very, very slowly (we shoot on cranking it fully open over no less than a minute) before we press the red ignition button. Opening the propane tank slowly overrides the safety feature that prevents the gas from flowing at full force, and therefore preventing your grill from getting hot. This is a wonderful, wonderful grill. The only negative that I have noted is that the inside of the hood gets very dirty (as with all grills), but because it is a bone color instead of your standard black, every grease spatter shows.

[+] 10.0 Perfect size
Perfect size. Only two of us so we ditched our large grill which took up so much room on our deck and replaced it with this. Very lightweight so it's easy to stash in the trunk for picnics and camping. The size of the grate is great and can cook for 4 people easily. STURDY construction.

[+] 10.0 Perfect for travel or two at home!
Nothing cooks like a cast iron grill and you generally have to pay BIG $$ to get one. This little grill has a great one! It can be VERY hot but practice and "lid open, lid closed compromise" you get professional results. Yes, remember to turn on the tank for 10 minutes (not the burner, the TANK) when you switch tanks or if you shut tank off after use (chicken!)

[+] 8.0 This baby is hot!
I bought this grill for tailgating during football season. It is perfect for 2-4 people, gets hot very fast. It takes up little space in the suv. I withheld the 5th star because the small propane tank was very hard to attach. First attempt was like a wrestling match to get it on, but the more you use it the easier it seems to get.

[+] 10.0 Beautiful little grill
If bulk production of grilled material isn't a primary concern then this little grill is perfect. That being said I was able to cook for a party of 15-20 with no problems. It cooks evenly and a broad enough temperatures for hot and fast or low and slow, whatever your style. Its greatest feature is one that is frequently overlooked; portability. In conjunction with the travel cart, it can go anywhere you go. I've traveled with mine, and nothing is more comforting than cooking on my own grill whenever and wherever I wish. Designed to fuel off of the small coleman style camp propane canisters, I sprung for the adapter hose and run it off my 20lb propane tank. Worked well at gramma's 100th birthday BBQ, with a gajillion extended relatives and strangers wanting free food. Great little grill. Efficient and excellent use of space. I doubt anyone will be disappointed in this purchase.

[+] 10.0 Great little grill
We had been fans of the cheap-throw-away grills from WalMart, but this year the one we bought was so flimsy and dangerous to use that we returned it to the store for a refund. The grill was warped and peeling after one use. So we tried the Weber Q100 as a different approach, and there is a 1000% difference. This is a rugged, stable, well-built grill that gets hot and cooks well. The grill itself is heavy, easy to clean, and there's nothing to peel off. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

[+] 10.0 Best non-charcoal grill I've ever owned
To be honest I didn't buy my Q100 on Amazon. I was about to, but on a visit to our local Target, I found a display model with matching stand for 75% off. How could I pass that up! Anyway, it was already assembled and ready to go so I put it in the back yard and began grilling.

I've never been a fan of gas grills, and have for the last 30 years owned the SAME Weber 18" charcoal kettle grill (Sears, but made by Weber). This charcoal grill has been indestructible, and except for a little rust here and there and the wooden handles rotting off, in very good condition. Well, I had been using the kettle grill less and less, only because of the hassle and time needed to light the charcoal, so I bought one of those little portable non-Weber gas grills (you know, the tabletop, rectangular boxy ones). This was a quick grill to use, but I was very unhappy with the grilled results. Frequent flare-ups from grease dripping on the burner made food taste terrible. Add to that the wire legs and wire grate began to rust within months of purchase.

Now, along comes the Q100. There's only the two of us so no need for multi-burner huge surface area grills. I've used it daily with every common grilling meat, and have yet to have had a bad result. From chicken thighs to burgers, it's easy to get a moist centered result by allowing the grill to preheat prior to grilling. Also, the design of the cast iron grate with solid bars that protect the burner from grease dripping on it make flare-ups almost non-existent even with greasy ribs and burgers. A replaceable aluminum drip pan under the grill captures the drippings that are funneled down by the base-pan of the grill thru a 3" hole in the bottom. Since there are virtually no flare-ups, the finished products have an excellent taste (not quite up to charcoal) but close enough. I've willing to give up a little flavor for the extreme convenience. Since I saved so much on the grill itself, I splurged a little and purchased the vinyl cover, wing tables, and a Weber grate cleaning brush from Amazon. The wing tables are a nice addition, since there is not much of a flat surface on the Q100 to place dishes, or sauce bowls etc. I assume that the only difference between the Q100 and Q200 is the wing tables. The bottom line is - if you want excellent grilled food and are tired of messing around with charcoal and lighter, than consider a Weber Q Series grill.

[+] 10.0 Easy to use!
I have wanted a Weber Q for so long and finally bought one - boy, am I glad! We take Weber Q to the lake, camping, tailgating, to our daughter's soccer games - it just goes anywhere. Attach a small $5.99 Propane can, hit the ignitor button, and you are ready to go! Comes with it's own drip pan. Best outdoor item I have ever purchased!

[+] 10.0 My Wife was Right!
The 100 Gas Grill is perfect for our needs. We two retireds eat lightly but still welcome diversity. This unit stores compactly, moves easily, operates efficiently, and cleans readily. We grill nearly every evening, and best of all, I now can participate in the cooking process with actual pride of accomplishment. The gas canisters are compact and inexpensive. I have yet to exhaust one.

[+] 10.0 A Great little grill
I tried this grill for the first time last night and am very pleased. I cooked a large steak and a couple of chicken legs. It cooked both great, although I think the manual suggested more time for the chicken than was necessary. Assembly of the grill took a few minutes, most of that the unpacking. I used one of the camping propane cylinders (Home Depot has the best price I've seen so far). I had a little trouble threading the cylinder, it fits but it butts up against the grill so you need to apply a little pressure to get it to fit. It started quickly with a couple pushes of the starter. It's a bit difficult to tell it's actually burning, you don't see a flame (or at least I couldn't). I cooked for about an hour on one cylinder (it's still not empty). It heated up fast, and cooked very well. Cleanup isn't a problem with a wire brush. I plan to upgrade to a larger tank so using it's more economical.

[+] 10.0 Nice grill for two
I was initially looking at a less expensive grill, but the Baby Q's cast iron grilling surface, and good reviews from friends that own it sold me. It is well made: painted cast aluminum top and bottom, durable high density plastic "legs/handles", a nice gas regulator and knob/ignitor, and is easy to disassemble for cleaning (not that I have had to). I use an adapter for a 15lb lpg tank as I don't take it traveling (just yet).

So far I have grilled ribeye, hindshank, ribs, mackerel, and almost every veggie I could think of and I have been satisfied with the results. The grill needs to be preheated for 5 minutes or so before a grilling, and it is a good idea to follow the weber Q cooking guide until you get a feel for how the grill cooks.

The grill surface is just big enough to accommodate dinner for my girlfriend and I. This is when everything on the menu is being grilled, meat, veggies on skewers, etc. You could definitely feed more people if the only thing occupying the grill is meat, and the side dishes are coming from elsewhere.

I love this grill so far. It is heavier to transport than a less expensive stamped steel grill with wire mesh grill surfaces, but the weight is justified by the materials and quality of the grill. Bottom line, this grill will last.

random extra info: While the grill was brand new, I removed the burner and lined the inside base of the babyQ with thick aluminum foil as a "grease barrier". So far I am very glad I did, as there are no grease drippings that have touched the inner base. Call me cleanfreak, but i have never enjoyed scrubbing caked-on grease. Also, I have tried "smoking", if you can even call it that. I cooked ribs with a small foil packet containing soaked oak chips directly on the grill. Did it work? Well, I have yet to figure out how to do indirect low temp. grilling on the Q, but the my GF said the ribs had a smoky flavor. The ribs cooked fast so not much smoke flavor was imparted to the meat...but if a low temp/indirect setup can be achieved, i think this could work.

This grill is fantastic. We've been looking for a small gas grill to take camping, and this exceeded our expectations. You can fit quite a bit on at a time, and unlike some others, you can cook with the lid closed. We used it with a full size gas tank. Highly recommended!!!

[+] 10.0 Solid & Works Very Well
I just got this and the first thing I did was hook up a small propane bottle and "cook it off" to burn off that "new" smell. Next, I took it out to the woods on a camping trip. The solid construction of this not only gives me comfort that its not going to fall apart on me, but it cooks very well and very evenly. The pre-seasoned grill surface is heavy - cast iron - so it distributes and holds heat well. The drip pan lets you use disposable pans to collect and toss (line'em with foil and you're in business for a while). I've paid 20 bucks for cheapy grills that last at best one summer. This one looks like it'll be with me and working for a long time. Go for it.

[+] 10.0 Best little grill
I purchased this grill because I have a larger, home model Weber grill, that I would only ever replace with another Weber. Holding up to it's reputation, this little guy starts flawlessly every time and cooks very consistently over the entire grill surface. If there was one thing it could do better, that would be to go to an even lower temperature than the lowest setting allows, for some slow roasting. Otherwise, a wise investment.

[+] 8.0 Portability
An excellent small, portable grill. Easy to start. Ample surface area for several steaks or half a dozen burgers, or a dozen hot dogs.

However, due to its light weight structure, it loses head easily under windy conditions.

[+] 10.0 This is PERFECT for one or two people!
When my husband died, I found that the big gas grill we had that he loved to cook on was simply too much for me. I gave it to friends with a lot of family visitors and bought this small Weber for myself. It is so easy to use that in all but the worst of weather, I grill my evening meal 2 or 3 times a week. The grate is easy to clean with a wire brush, the drip pan is easy to replace, and best of all, I can use it with a full-size propane tank or a small disposable one. I even took it to the beach for a week! Best gas grill for my purposes that I've ever had.

[+] 10.0 Great camping grill
After purchasing several bad grills for camping I was skeptical about this one. I went ahead and purchased it since I love my weber charcoal grill. I was glad to took a chance on this grill because it really does a great job. Recently I took a trip camping with 11 other people and everyone gave it rave reviews. Nice work once again, Weber.

My wishlist for future features on this grill: I would like to see a flat bottom for easier packing for us campers, a lid that can be fastened down or at least that doesn't rattle when driving (this can be solved by carefully packing it around sleeping bags today), and a handle allowing it to be carried with one arm.

[+] 10.0 Perfect for 2-3 people, enough for 5-6
Just received on of these this week and I've only used it once. I chose this one because I live with just one roommate and we felt it would be big enough for us, and we also wanted a portable one for camping. The first use was to grill pork and chicken wings for 5 people. There wasn't enough space to fit all our food on at once, so we split it into to batches, and slowly ate the first batch as more or less an appetizer. The grill worked great, got hot right away, didn't use much fuel, and was easy to move around and set up. Something that would make it better for larger groups would be if there was a second rack to hold food away from the heat, or if there was a way to adjust the heat for different sections of the grill.

Ultimately, a great, easy grill to use!

[+] 10.0 Great Grill
This is our second Weber Q grill. The first I connected to the propane system in our RV. This one we will use on a remote cylinder. The Q grill is small, but it cooks as well as a large grill. Very resistant to flare ups and things cook evenly. The grilling surface is small, but I can cook enough steak or burgers for 4 people. Heavy duty construction with cast iron grilling surfaces. Looks like it would last forever.

[+] 8.0 Great results and verstile. But small and heavy. 16.4 ounce no problem
First I would like to get to the 16.4 ounce propane issue. The Weber site and the manual clearly state that 16.4 ounce cansisters are fine. This seems to be contrary to people posting on the web reviews from years past. My guess is that if it was ever an issue it has now been addressed, which is good news since 16.4 ounce canisters are much easier to find. Mine arrived last week and it is no problem at all using 16.4 ounces. No modifications necessary it fits right in, right off the bat.

As for the performance of this grill. Outstanding. The big difference I can see from other grills I have had in the past is a very heavy cast iron cooking grate, and the good construction of the lid. The grate conducts heat well and evenly. You end up getting a good sear, fairly fast cooking, and an even cooking surface. I have had excellent results. Assembly was easy, it took a couple minutes to put the handle on, attach the cover to the unit, and put the heat knob on.

The grate does, however, lead to the unit being pretty heavy. It may or may not be an issue for you as a potential buyer, but I did want to point that out. Also, of course, there is not a huge cooking surface. However rectangular cooking surfaces you get more out of than a circular surface. For a family of 2 to 4 it should be fine. And it cooks fast enough that you can cook in waves and the first wave should still be hot.

Lastly Weber gives you lots of verstility with this model. You can add the side trays later if you want. You can add a rolling cart. You can add a converter to use 20 lb propane tanks. Is it worth more than other grills? It does have a 5 year warranty which was impressive and it does produce excellent results. For me, after having it, the answer is a clear yes, it was worth the money. Recommended.

[+] 8.0 Great BBQ...however!
Great BBQ for such a compact size. Weber really has it dialed in. However, and please note, ONLY the 14 oz propane bottles should be used. Technically the larger 16 oz size can be used, but I had nothing but problems trying to get the bottle connected...its dia. is too large and should not be recommended. I would have given this product 5 stars but the frustration Weber put me through deserved a penalty.

We purchased our Q100 from Target. I couldn't wait for shipping. we also bought the rolling cart. what a great grill. we are using it for home use. there are three of us in our home. its the perfect size.
heats quick and cooks evenly. the one downfall was when I realized we needed the "work surfaces" on the sides of the grill. holding the plate to put the cooked food on was inconvenient. I was happy to find out that I could order the "work surfaces" from Weber for $39.95. glad I didn't have to return the grill to get the one with the work surfaces. so far so good.
new to the Weber family.

[+] 2.0 Disappointed and I haven't even used it yet!
Got this grill in the mail. Opened it up and it's missing all the parts. The handle, hinges, bolts, trays, knob, ect. All missing. Called customer service and I was quite pleasent even though I was annoyed. I said to the guy "can you throw in a freebie for my trouble?" jokingly. He said "I'm shipping you practicly half the grill for free!" and I replied with "No, I paid for a whole grill and I only received half." What ever happen to customer service? Do they only hire people with an attitude to work these positions? I only want to get what I paid for. I just want to me made whole.

Weber - keep this in mind - people write reviews on Amazon. These reviews can help you or hurt you. Keep your reviews healthy by better training your customer service folks to serve the customer.

[+] 8.0 All the Good Things Said about this Grill is True...
I have had a larger model of this before and, it was a good performer. But even in balmy Southern California chilly Spring nights effect its little sisters performance: so you must adjust for the conditions outside. Since the cast dome is made out of Aluminum, it acts as a heat sink and rapidly loses heat. But with my most recent purchase I found something unacceptable. The tray where the aluminum foil grease-catcher fits shipped as it came from the press (it's been drawn and trimmed) without any deburring at all. So the edges of the pan are extremely sharp. An inexperienced person trying to pull it from the groove in the bottom could slash a few fingers at a time. I am sure Weber will correct this when they realize quality assurance is off.

Other than that it's as it has been touted to be.

[+] 10.0 AWESOME LITTLE GRILL!!
About 15 years ago I was given a Kenmore Gas Grill as a Gift.. It failed the first cook out and the hose Caught Fire.. I was leery about using Gas Grills after that.. I was also a Die hard Charcoal Fan although the advantages to gas are obvious. I used the Grill for years as a Charcoal grill, It was big and bulky and I had to move it around etc.. It finally fell over one day and bit the dust..
One day I saw this little off brand Portable Chinese Propane Grill at a Drug store for $25.00 so thought I would give it a try not having anything to grill on.. It did fair at best, but was so small you could barely fit 6 burgers on it.. It used Lava Rock to diffuse the heat and absorb the drippings etc.. You had to move the food around to cook even etc.. I bought another one that was a little bigger months later again for $25.00 .. A Char Glow. It used a Flat Piece of metal with Louvers stamped in it to diffuse the heat and catch the drippings.. It did ok.......... When it would stay lite! The Slightest breeze would extinguish the burner.. You had to monitor it all the time and relight it constantly! Later I bought another Char Glow Grill this time for $65.00 It was bigger and better I thought.. It was like a Suit case.. I was certainly intrigued with the concept of being portable.. After getting it home and looking at it realized it was simply defective by design! There was no way this grill could ever heat evenly! I put gas to it just to see and after 15 minutes the grill was not even hot! I took it back the next day! The reason I mention all this is that there are some poor designed grills out there and you need check them out good..!
I had seen the Weber Q 100 at Lowes and Home Depot.. It had the Fold out trays which I didn't want and the electronic spark that needed batteries.. It was a little more then I really wanted to spend.. One store wanted $199.00 and the other $169.00 I decided to get on line and look around.
Coleman had an interesting portable Grill, but it's lid so shallow you could only cook low profile foods.. I wanted the option to cook Roasts or something bigger.. I went on Amazon and found the Q 100 with out the trays for $130.00 I read the reviews and they all seemed very positive.. Amazon also had a free Shipping deal going on so $130.00 Free shipping and no local tax, I decided to go for it..
I received the Grill within a week with no problems at all.. Unpacking the Weber Q 100 Grill it simply rang true you get what you pay for.. The Quality and Engineering of this grill is So far beyond what I was using and looking at!! Weber Grills have been around for Years and that Name Brand and Legacy of Grills has always been synonymous with Quality out door cooking products.. It certainly shows even in this little Grill! AND still American Made! Amen!
If you want a Bigger grill look at the Q200 as it is more of a full sized Grill, but I was sold on Compact and Portability with the Q100.. Don't let this Little Grill fool you! You can easily cook 8 Big Pork Chops or Hamburgers with no problem at all!
The main Feature about this Grill is the Cast Iron Grate and how it is designed to lay over the burner and conducts heat . It heats Evenly and can cook very quickly! The grate is rather heavy.. About 10#'s I am certainly intrigued with the Cast Iron Grate! Anyone that knows about Cast Iron Skillets will tell you it is all in the pan after it becomes seasoned.. The same should hold true for this grate!
There is no doubt in my mind that this is the best Grill I have ever owned or used! I LOVE IT!
The First few times I used it the wind was gusting 20-30 mph and it had no problem at all staying lite!! It cooked really quick and very even.. I have used it several times now and I am thrilled with how well it does! I like very much the idea to be able to through it in the car and head for a Park or Lake etc. It is an awesome little Grill!!!!
There are some good ideas in the reviews on here so read them.. I bought a 10# Tank and hose to use around the house, but use the 1# Cylinder to take to the Lake.. Also lining the bottom with foil is a good idea.. I would like to try to come up with an idea for a liquid stray for adding wood chips and or liquid smoke..

[+] 10.0 A Great Portable Grill
I have used this grill for a year and I love it. It's easy to start (just push the ignitor once when the the gas is on and the grill is lit), it's easy to clean, and it is portable (it will easily fit inside the trunk of a car). The grill uses a standard propane gas bottle and four large steaks will fit on the grilling surface. The grill is constructed of cast aluminum, which makes it is very sturdy, and it will take no longer than 15 minutes to cook your food. The Q-100 doesn't have the foldable shelves so you will have to purchase them separately, or buy the Q-200. Also when I bought the grill through Amazon I had to pay approximately $40.00 for shipping and handling. Never the less, this is a very nice grill for anyone who does not have a lot of space and enjoys grilling.

[+] 4.0 BAD REGULATORS
I just bought this grill about 3 weeks ago and after about a week and a half the regulator quit. I have tried several online retailers and stores and no one has it in stock. All back ordered. Now I know Weber wouldn't do such a thing unless they're having an issue with this like Toyota is having with they're gas pedals. I'm a camper and I use this(used this) every day. Food just tastes a whole lot better from the grill. Look for another grill till they get this fixed.

[+] 10.0 great little grill
This grill is great for 2 people with a limited outdoor area. The small green propane canisters last for about 10 BBQs or so, and since it's small it heats up fast which also saves fuel.

[+] 10.0 Weber Portable Grill -
We bought the Weber Q-100 and the stand. This grill was perfect for parking lot cookouts. The unit heated up in record time and cooked the hot dogs and hamburgers better than what you would buy at the concession stand. When we shut it off, it did not take too long to cool down and was easy to assemble and disassemble. I would highly recommend this grill for any sports parents that want to do some tailgating.
